Ethel K Nardone, 83 of Green Brook, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 03, 2017 at Haven Hospice in Edison with her loving family by her side. Born in Newark, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Placko) Kovac.
In her younger years, Ethel was a member of Sokol Association, where she exceled as a gymnast. She was also the long time treasurer of the Green Brook Seniors. In a time when most women were limited to working what were considered to be “women’s jobs”, Ethel worked her way up from bookkeeper to Vice President of Provident Bank in Green Brook. It was through hard work and resilience, but mainly through her dedication to the people who entrusted her to look out for them and to keep their best interests at heart. Ethel will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Ethel was predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank A Nardone, Jr in 1998. She is survived by her loving children; son Bruce D Nardone of Dunedin, FL; her daughter Tracy Cooper and husband Timothy of Green Brook; she is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Bruce Geoffrey Nardone, Christian DePasquale and her husband Michael, TJ Cooper, Robert A Nardone, and Michael D Nardone, as well by her adored great grandson Michael Anthony DePasquale. Ethel is also survived by her brother, Milan Kovac of Edgewater, NJ as well by many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, March 7, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral service will be held at 8:30 pm at the funeral home. All other services are private.
