Sr. Mary was instrumental in assisting us in obtaining our Annulments in 1999. I often think about her and how sweet and kind she was. The night Mathew's annulment came thru, she called us personally, to tell us we could be married in the Catholic Church. We were so happy that she was able to witness our marriage! I know she is looking down and smiling! I lost my husband 8 months ago and I'm certain he is in Heaven thanking Sr. Mary for our nearly 22 years of marriage!

I feel privileged to have served on Holy Spirit's advisory council with Sister Mary for several years. She always provided such kind, rational, and intelligent guidance and the love of God and her students was always her primary motivator in any decisions made.

Sister Mary was very special, caring and loving. She was always a pleasure to work with during her years at Holy Spirit, especially during my years as president of Mothers Guild. I worked with sister at the diocese. She was one of the sweetest people I have ever known. I was blessed to become friends with her she was there for me in good and bad times. When I would go for lunch she took great pride in showing me around the mount. She always had a smile a hug and a kind word for me. She will live in my heart and will be remembered with love. RIP my desr friend. Love Mary Hopf

To the Family of Mary Kerwin
Please accept my sincere condolences. I have taken comfort knowing that God . . . will wipe all tears from their eyes, and there will be no more death, suffering, crying, or pain.”—Revelation 21:3, 4 The Bible, however, holds out a much different hope. God, who started mankind off in a lovely garden, has promised to restore Paradise on this earth under the rule of His heavenly Kingdom in the hands of the now glorified Jesus Christ. ( Matthew 6:10; “ Let your kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also upon earth” ) In that restored Paradise, the human family will have the prospect of enjoying life without end, free from all sickness and disease
Sincerely,
Roberta

I am so Sorry to learn today- 2 years too late! I was a French student at St Mary’s high school in late 70s. I graduated in 1981. Just learned she was buried in my town So Plainfield- I wish I knew sooner- always wanted to see Sister Mary Kerwin and somehow never got to see her again and I knew she was close by. Sister Mary Kerwin was the best nun teacher in Perth Amboy in my high school from 77-81. Miss her so much.

Where do I start the memories? Your wonderful father and gracous mother? Your amazing brothers? Your father was my Mom's (Loretta "Tutsy" Kerwin) favorite brother, the one who sent her into New York City to have her 1925 wedding gown "designed" and made and to have her hair bobbed? The family times at the North Shore Country Club at Greenport Long Island? The financial assistance your parents provided while Mom and Dad stuggled to get Poling Oil Co up and running in 1929? The fun times you and Kathleen had as kids? My brothers, Buddy and Edward closeness to your brothers? So many more. Love you Mary and happy we got to say our goodbyes in person. I'll treasure the statue of our Blessed Mother, the Babe of Bethlehem. the family photos. You lived God's Will and left happiness behind. Rest in Peace my dear Cousin. Jim Poling

Mike & Patty, & The Kerwin Family
I am so sorry to hear of Sr. Mary's passing. She was a wonderful, kind, and special person.

I remember my mother walking my brother and I up to see her, when she was Directress at Mt. St. Mary's, back in the 60's. Sr. Mary & my Mother kept in touch throughout the years, and when my Mother and Father passed away in 2005, she came to both of their funerals and gave eulogies. I continued keeping in touch with Sr. Mary, and then last Christmas I didn't receive a card from her, and had a feeling she wasn't well at that point. I was unable to go see her because of my health, and unfortunately, I won't be able to attend her funeral Saturday. When I am able, I will go visit her grave, since she is near the area where my grandparents are buried.

My sympathy and prayers to all of you at this sad time.
