Kathleen Hornak, 64, of Piscataway passed away on Monday April 25th, 2016 peacefully at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in New Brunswick after a lengthy stay. She was surrounded by her husband and children. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Edward and Alice Howley, she grew up on Staten Island and lived in Parlin before moving to Piscataway in 1979. Kathleen was a graduate of Sayreville High School and attended Middlesex County College. She previously worked for Prudential and was a customer service manager for Crown Cruise Vacations in Princeton for the past 9 years. In her spare time, Kathleen was an avid baker and was well-known for her homemade cheesecake. Kathleen was an active volunteer for the eight years her children were members of the Piscataway High School Superchief Marching Band. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her, especially her co-workers.
Kathleen is survived by her husband Steve of 38 years, son, Stephen of Piscataway, daughter, Jamie of Somerset, mother, Alice Brenner of Columbus, 2 sisters; Patricia and husband Joseph Rinaldi of Wrightstown and Lori Howley of Burlington, brother, Edward and wife Bonnie of Royal Palm Beach, FL, sister-in-law Carole Kowalcyk and her husband Eugene of Toms River, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
There will be a visitation on Friday; April 29th from 5-8PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen. A funeral service will take place on Saturday; April 30th at 10:30AM at the Funeral Home. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
