Our family patriarch, William Robinson, 95, of Green Brook, NJ passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025 with his loving family by his side.
William was born on June 28, 1929 in Wilkes Barre, PA to William and Aroline Robinson. He graduated from Bound Brook High School in 1948. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953, rising to the rank of Corporal and serving in Europe. He then went on to study at Marietta College, earning a Bachelors degree in 1957. William later earned his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 1979. He worked for IBM and Mobil Oil in the Information Technology field in the areas of Programming and Systems Analysis. After retiring from Mobil, he went on to do consulting work with Spectrum and teach at Kean University. William had a great love for music, especially jazz. He played trumpet in a big-band style band during his late teens and early 20s, performing in paid gigs at local clubs and restaurants. He also enjoyed movies, particularly those from the 1940’s and 1950’s. Golf was another favorite activity, as a participant in his younger years and as a fan his whole life. William married his beloved and loving wife, Clara, in 1959. They celebrated their 65 th wedding anniversary last year. He had a strong devotion to family. One of his favorite roles was being Grandpa to his four grandchildren who were a tremendous source of pride and joy. William is survived by his wife, Clara; son William (Sam), daughter Cynthia (Christopher) and son Kenneth (Patricia); granddaughters Claire (Joseph), Laura (Richard), Olivia (Anthony) and Grace; great granddaughter Eleanor and great grandson Theo. Visitation and a memorial service will be held at Sheenan Funeral Home in Dunellen on April 14 from 4-7:30.
