Viola “Becky” Lauria, 84, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, February 28 at her home in Piscataway. Born in Hackensack, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Marion Kenzel.
After graduating from Dunellen High School, Becky met the love of her life, Bill Lauria, and they were married in 1958. It was a love affair that would last 60 years. They did everything together, they especially loved going to the beach. Her greatest joy came from raising a happy, loving family and in later years, that love extended to her 10 beautiful grandchildren. She attended every sporting event and dance recital and never missed sharing important milestones. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Besides her parents, Becky was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill in 2018. She is survived by her loving children, son William and wife Patricia of Middlesex; daughter Kim Turlip and husband Jeff of Ocean Grove; and daughter Kelly Clarida and husband Thomas of Bound Brook. Becky is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Matthew Turlip and wife Maeve, Justin Turlip and partner Rachel, Rebecca Sewnig and husband Jon, Kelsey and husband J.R. Licato, Katie Lauria and fiancé Tommy Marcinczyk, Amy Lauria, and Jordan, Taylor, Skylar and Parker Clarida. She is also survived by her loving sister Cheryl Schneider and husband Carl as well as many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Saturday, March 4th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Sheenan Funeral Home in Dunellen. A funeral service will be held at 5:30 p.m. Cremation will be held privately.
