Thomas "Butch" Phillip, 79, passed away February 25, 2022 at RWJ Hospital, Somerset, NJ. He was born in New Brunswick, NJ on July 29, 1942 to George and Dorothy Phillip (Faust). Butch worked for Wakefern Food Corporation for 38 years, retiring in 2000. Lived in Dunellen, NJ for over 25 years, then soon after retiring, moved to New Ringgold, PA. He loved model trains, hunting for treasures at flea markets, gardening, bowling (700 Club), working on cars and watching Old Westerns and Looney Tunes. He enjoyed playing backyard games of basketball (Horse), whiffle ball, and horseshoes with his children. He was hard-working and man of his word, who always put his family's needs first.
He is survived by his children, Thomas Phillip of Navarre, FL, Timothy (Michelle) Phillip of Bridgewater, NJ, Brenda (Patrick) Brown of Bridgewater, NJ, and Tracey (Jason) Petervary of Victor, ID. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Chelsea, Nicolette, Mia, Shane, Patrick, Jake, McKeegan, and Sarah. They will all greatly miss him, his silly jokes, and being told not to take any wooden nickels.
Visitation will be from 4-6pm on Friday, March 4 at Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave, Dunellen NJ. A funeral service will then be held at 6:00 pm with cremation to be held privately. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in his name to Michael J Fox Foundation.
