Thomas W. Yorlano, Sr. died January 23rd, 2026 at Robert Wood Johnson University Somerset Hospital in Somerville with his loving family by his side. Tom was born in Plainfield and lived there before moving to Middlesex more than 65 years ago.
Tom worked for Harris Structural Steel in South Plainfield for nearly 50 years before retiring. While at Harris Steel, Tom participated in the construction of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge and received a medallion commemorating its opening in 1964.
Tom enjoyed watching football, baseball, golf & bowling, his favorite teams were the NY Giants and NY Yankees. In his younger years, Tom was an avid bowler.
Predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Joy Yorlano, surviving are his 4 children Susan Cuthbert and her longtime companion Frank Wheatley of North Plainfield, Andrew Yorlano and his longtime companion Nan Sauter of Sugarland, TX Tina-Marie Berardi and her husband Brian of South Plainfield, son Tom Jr. of Middlesex and a brother, John Yorlano and his wife Evelyn of FL, 9 Grandchildren, Shaun, Leigh, Andy, Taryn, Ryan, Tyler, Branden, Kyla & Jillian & 7 Great Grand Children.
Private funeral arrangements are by the Sheenan Funeral Home in Dunellen. The entire Yorlano family wishes to thank all of the Doctors, Nurses, family and friends for all of their love and support during this difficult time.
