Thomas Welsh, age 66, loving husband of Laurie (White) Welsh of Dunellen, passed away on August 23, 2025, in New Brunswick.
Born in Plainfield on August 13, 1959, Tommy was the son of Elizabeth (Palir) Hannigan of Edison and the late Thomas William Welsh, Sr.
He was a forklift operator at National Starch for many years.
Tommy loved dogs. Throughout his 36 years of marriage to Laurie, they owned 11! He was a diehard Yankees fan, enjoyed Crosswords and Sudoku, and watching old westerns on television. He found great joy working in his backyard. He loved Christmas. Decorating the house, playing music made him so happy.
Tommy was the first to admit he wasn’t a “people person” but, if you met him, you knew he had a big heart and was the first to do anything for the people he loved.
He had two lifelong friendships that lasted to this day; Tommy and Charlie were best friends from his teenage years.
In addition to his wife and mom, Tommy is survived by his brother- in-law, Earl White and his wife Heidi, sisters-in-law Rosemarie Edwards and her husband Charles, Joan Bryan and her husband Doug, and Kathleen Milos and her husband Walter. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his dad, Tommy was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Hussey, and his niece Amy Markell.
His services and interment will be private.
