Teresa B. (Horan) Nodes

Teresa B. (Horan) Nodes, age 87, beloved wife of the late Bernard Nodes, Sr, passed away on December 18, 2025 in Middlesex.

Born on September 5, 1938 in Sinolane Kilmovee , County Mayo, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late Thomas, and Maryanne (Grogan) Horan.

Teresa came to the United States in 1953and settled in Plainfield, NJ with her Aunt Ann. At age 15 she landed her first job at Woolworth’s in Plainfield. For a 15 year-old who wasn’t familiar with our currency, and spoke differently, she did well for herself.

On August 10, 1957, she married Bernard Nodes and settled in Dunellen. Her and Bernie had 3 children: Mary Wells, Bernard Nodes, Jr and his wife Vicky, and the late Thomas Nodes.

Teresa was very proud of her Irish heritage. She was an active member of the New Brunswick Shamrock club, and she participated in many events and celebrations.

She was a devout Roman Catholic and was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Fatima and later moved to Middlesex and became a member of Our Lady of Mount Virgin parish.

She left behind many friends and family. Amongst her very close friends who deserve a mention is Kathleen Wilson, and to that special member Sue Nodes who was always a phone call away.

In addition to her children, Teresa is survived by her grandchildren; Jennifer Fellin and her husband Dave, Richard Wells and his wife Katie, and Brian Nodes and his wife Allison, Amanda Farina and her husband Chris, and Thomas Lawless. Her great grandchildren; Rylie, Chloe, Hunter, Madison, Piper, Griffin, Kennedy, Garrett, Kyle, Madelyn, Nicholas Wells. In addition to her son Thomas, Teresa was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jessica Wells and her siblings: Margaret, Michael, and Pilomenia as well as all the cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends in Ireland, England, and here in the United States.
