Roy Bahrenburg died peacefully on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at JFK Hospice in Edison, New Jersey.
Roy was born in Mt. Vernon, NY and was the son to Paul Bahrenburg and Rosemary Webber. His early childhood and early manhood were spent in Brooklyn, graduating from Holy Innocents grammar school and Erasmus Hall high school.
Two years in the Army was followed by a 40 year career in the insurance business as an underwriter.
Roy’s final move was to Piscataway, NJ where he learned about the Little League. He became a coach, then a manager. All while serving on the Executive Board, for a total of 37 years. He was rewarded when the complex was named after him and he was so honored. When there was a fire at the complex, the sign came down.
He is survived by his beloved sister Rosemary.
Friends and family may visit on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Avenue, Dunellen, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 20, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway, with Entombment to follow thereafter at Resurrection Cemetery.
