Richard Westcott, of Dunellen, beloved husband of Suzanne (Ebert) Westcott with whom he shared 55 years of marriage, passed away on November 29, 2025, in New Brunswick. He was 79 years old.
Born on September 24, 1946 in Newark, he was the son of Stella (Chiborowski) Westcott of Dunellen and the late Floyd V. Westcott.
Rich was a graduate of Cranford High School and then enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served aboard the USS Bonhomme Richard.
Rich and Sue settled in Dunellen in 1972, where they loved spending time with his family and friends on his front porch.
He was employed by New Jersey Bell for over 30 years until his retirement.
As an avid bowler, Rich developed many lifelong friendships and enjoyed the mutual camaraderie found among the other players.
He was a dedicated Miami Dolphins fan, and a member of the Dunellen Elks Lodge 1488.
Rich cherished family vacations with his grandchildren.
Those who were lucky to have known Rich, will remember him for his infectious laugh, kind heart, and willingness to always offer help to those who ask.
In addition to his loving wife Sue, and his mom, Rich is survived by his son Chris, and his wife Jennifer Westcott, and his daughter, Colleen, and her husband Dave Walker. His beloved grandchildren, Christopher Westcott, Cal Walker, Matthew Westcott, Grace Walker, and Ella Walker.
In addition to his dad, he was preceded in death by his brother Vincent Westcott.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Sheenan Funeral Home, and to his funeral mass on Friday, December 5th at 10:30 AM at Saint John the Evangelist RC Church. His interment will be private.
