Raymond William Turi, 78, passed away on March 10, 2023 in New Brunswick NJ.
Raymond was born in Jersey City on Aug 2, 1944 to Mercedes and Rocco Turi. He moved to West
Orange where he would eventually meet his wife Edith in High School. The two wed on April 16,
1966. Raymond was a Sheet Metal Worker for many years with Sheet Metal Workers Local 28 out of
NYC. He was also the owner of Nixon Park Luncheonette in Edison where he was known for his pork
roll egg and cheese sandwiches!
Raymond was passionate about his Grandchildren and enjoyed playing cards and dominoes with
them. He took pride watching them play sports whenever he could and was dutiful in
attending their special occasions.
Raymond enjoyed going to the casinos with his wife and playing dominoes with friends on a regular
basis. In his younger days Ray really enjoyed going on cruises with his wife and their friends and
spending time in Cape May. Some of his other interests included James Bond movies, Dairy Queen
Blizzards and the New York Giants and Yankees.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 57 years Edith, his daughter Susan Ananian (Alex) of Boonton
Township, Karen Sweeney (Asa) of Whiting NJ, and Donald Turi (Tracey) of Sterling Virginia.
Raymond is survived by six Grandchildren. Jackson LaScala, Gavin, Alexandra and Ava Ananian, and
Dylan and Gabriella Turi

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, March 16 from 3:30-6:30 at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral service will be held at 6:00pm. Burial will be held privately.
