Beloved father and grandfather, Raymond Charles Peddie, 92, of Bridgewater, New Jersey, passed away on April 27, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in Somerville, New Jersey.
Raymond was born to Lillian (née Seidel) and William Peddie on June 25, 1930 in Bayonne, New Jersey. A Korean War veteran, Raymond proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for two years as a member of the 3rd Tank Battalion of the 3rd Marine Division FMF from 1952 to 1954. After discharging from the Marines, Raymond married his wife, Norma Elizabeth Peddie (née Tallmadge), settling in his hometown of Bayonne, New Jersey. Raymond was a skilled glazier, working for over thirty years in the New York/New Jersey metropolitan area. He is a lifetime member of the International Brotherhood of Painters and Allied Trades union. Growing up, Raymond was a gymnast, specializing in rings and pommel horse, and he carried that love of fitness with him, becoming an avid jogger and walker later in life. One could find him almost daily walking and jogging through the many parks in and around Union and Somerset counties. Raymond loved to socialize and make others smile. Additionally, he enjoyed reading at the local library, solving Sudoku puzzles, and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, whom he loved dearly.
Raymond is predeceased by his parents Lillian and William Peddie and his wife, Norma Elizabeth Peddie.
Raymond is survived by his daughters, Dr. Susan Kukucka and husband James of Green Brook, and Gail Tsapellas and husband Nikolaos of Fairview. He was the cherished grandfather of James Kukucka and wife Nicole, Jeffrey Kukucka, George Tsapellas and Nicole Tsapellas.
