Ralph Auriemma passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022 at the age of 100.
Ralph was born in Brooklyn, NY to John and Louise (Colluci) Auriemma on July 20, 1921. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Hay, who died in 1970. He later remarried Lillian Barone Fusco who later passed away. He spent his remaining years with his sweetheart, Eva Fisher, who he cherished and loved. They spent many happy years together. He worked as a letter carrier for the Elizabeth post office for 13 ½ years. He was a member of the Middlesex Elks and a former member of the Tri County Seniors where he served as president for several years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII stationed in Baltimore, MD.
Ralph is preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy and their sons, John, Ralph and Robert. He is preceded in death by his second wife, Lillian.
Ralph is survived by his two daughters, Joyce Phillips and Delores David and her husband Richard and his sister Dolores Sorrentino. He is survived by his grandchildren Carol Vyhonsky, Ben Vessa, Joseph Auriemma, Karen Bromm, and Jennifer David.
Ralph is survived by his great grandchildren who loved him dearly, Ian and Angel Vyhonsky, Gavin and Nathanial Vessa, Caitlin and Ryan Bromm, Caylee Rake, and Kayla, Hannah and Sydney Auriemma.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of your choice.
The family wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the nurses, aids and staff that cared for him while he lived at Brandywine Assisted Living at Middlebrook Crossings. He enjoyed participating in the many fun activities they offered. He particularly enjoyed socializing at happy hour and playing Texas Holdem!
He will be tremendously missed by his family and friends.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, May 27 from 10:00-11:00AM at the Sheenan Funeral Home. A funeral mass will then be celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Catholic Church at 11:30AM in Middlesex, with burial to follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery in Colonia.
