On December 27, 2019, Otto Rutsch, beloved husband, father, uncle and friend, passed away at the age of 94. Otto was born in Germany on September 6, 1925, the only child of Berta and Carl Rutsch.
He and his wife Helen lived in North Plainfield for over 58 years until moving to Chelsea Assisted Living in Warren two years ago.
Otto served in the U.S. Army from December, 1943 until March, 1946, as an Antitank Gun Crewman and as an Interpreter.
Otto was known in the North Plainfield area as being a TV repairman and also an usher and bingo worker at St Luke Roman Catholic Church for many years. Later in life he worked as a caretaker for Saint Luke’s until retiring in 2009.
Otto is predeceased by his wife Helen, who passed in January 2019. He is survived by his son, Bruce Rutsch and wife Donna of Mt. Pleasant, SC, his daughter, Heidi Clark and her partner Walt of East Stroudsburg, PA; a grandson, Sean Swain of Ocala, FL, a granddaughter, Ashley Eminhizer of Whitehall, PA and two great granddaughters, Jalissa Swain and Stella Eminhizer.
