Michael L. Cassidy, Jr. 75, of Dunellen, NJ passed away peacefully on Monday, September 16, 2024. Born in Plainfield, Michael was proud to have worked for the City of Plainfield, retiring after 25 years of dedicated service from the Department of Public Works.
Michael was a longtime resident of Dunellen, where he held a deep and enduring love for his hometown. Known for his frequent presence around town, he could often be found enjoying a slice at Rome Pizza, visiting the ladies at Provident Bank, or at one of his favorite convenience stores or taverns. Michael faced challenges throughout his life, which colored his journey in unique ways. Despite these difficulties, Dunellen remained a defining part of who he was.
Michael is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Margaret Cassidy, two brothers, John and Edward Cassidy, and his sister Ilene Bishop. He is survived by his children; Michelle, Michael and Joseph; his grandchildren; Melissa, Megan, Alexia, Ricky and Joey; and his sister and last surviving sibling Muriel Rose, who was a source of support throughout his life.
