On February 17th, Mary Wojno, our beloved, passed away at the age of 94.
Mary was born on April 3, 1927 to Mr. Stephen & Mrs. Catherine Arico. She was 1 of 4 children. She was born in Brooklyn, later moved to Plainfield and lived in Piscataway for the last 68 years. Mary married Benny Wojno on April 15, 1950.
She had a long career ranging as a personal manager for Bamberger’s, in the 60’s followed by a human resource supervisor at the College of Medicine and Dentistry and retired at the age of 62 from Schering-Plough in Kenilworth NJ as the head of the payroll division.
Mary enjoyed spending time with family, especially vacationing with them, making wine, going on trips with the traveling seniors, going out to lunch with her friend and play mahjong with the girls.
Mary is predeceased by her husband Benny, her parents and her siblings, Fran, Joseph and Thomas. She is also survived by her daughter Lorraine Calvo and husband Tim, and son Thomas Wojno and wife Karen, her granddaughters Jennifer Coppola and husband Andrew, Kimberly Mitchell and husband Jonathan, Ashley McHugh and husband Josh. Grandsons Kyle Calvo and wife Katie, David Wojno and wife Jenny, and Michael Coppola and wife Michelle. She is also survived by her 11 great grandchildren, Joey and Owen Coiro, Harper and Matthew Mitchell, Noah and Colton Wojno, Alexander and Angelina Coppola, Roman, Mara and Cole Leonardi. Also, many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and her best friend Carmine LeFanto who will miss her dearly.
In lieu of flower please make donations to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and/or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Mary’s name.
