Margaret M. Catapano (nee Murray) passed away peacefully at home on October 16, 2020.
Margaret is predeceased by her parents Thomas and Virginia Murray formerly of Newark, NJ and brothers, Thomas, Kenneth and Patrick Murray and her beloved husband Ido V. Catapano in 2016.
Margaret was born and raised in Newark, NJ attending Catholic grammar school and was a graduate of Barringer High School. She is a former employee of NJ Bell Telephone Company and moved to Dunellen, NJ after marrying Ido in 1961, settling in Middlesex in 1968.
Margaret leaves behind her loving daughters, Patricia Gardner of Hackettstown and Tracy Armenti of Middlesex, grandchildren Vincent Joseph Cucchiaro of Flemington and Lisa Marie Cucchiaro of Green Brook and adored great grandson Joseph Anthony Cucchiaro of Congers, NY.
Margaret is survived by brother Dennis Murray of Melbourne FL, brother Brian Murray and wife Lynda of Ohio, sister Eileen Holman of Satellite Beach, FL, and John Murray and wife Karen of Indiatlantic, FL.
In her last years of life Margaret was able to reconnect with her daughter Anne Bertino. She is survived by Anne and her husband Bernard and granddaughter Emily.
As one of eight children Margaret also leaves behind an extended family to include 27 nieces and nephews.
In her day Margaret was a real go getter. She was witty and social. A natural organizer, she was famous for running neighborhood garage sales, Atlantic City bus trips and ladies’ card games.
While she enjoyed her trips to Vegas and AC, playing bingo and poker, cooking and bowling, her true passion was her family. She loved being a wife, mother and homemaker.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
