On January 3, 2022, Marcelle (Fortin) Gorman, beloved Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother passed away at the age of 101.

Marcelle was born on September 3, 1920 in Mount Vernon, Washington to Jeanette Pecheur and Vernon Fortin. She was a resident of Green Brook for over 70 years. Marcelle worked for the Dunellen Public Schools - retiring in 1994.

Marcelle loved spending time with her family, talking about and was so proud of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her love of animals, especially cats, was always apparent. Many a feral cat found a home in her yard.

Marcelle is predeceased by her parents, her husband Arthur Francis in 2000, her son, Michael Paul, her daughter, Nancy Anne and her brother, Paul Fortin.

She is survived by her loving children, Catherine Beardsley (Roy) of Readington, NJ, Daniel of Green Brook, NJ, along with 6 grandchildren - Michael Gorman of Middlesex; Christopher Beardsley (Megan) of Readington; Cynthia Miller (Robert) of Louisa, VA; Jeremy Beardsley (Susan) of Readington; Timothy Beardsley of Reno, NV and Brian Gorman (Anastasia) of Middlesex. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren - Kate Miller, Christopher Miller (Samantha), Aidan Beardsley, Bridget Beardsley, Micaela Beardsley, Emily Beardsley, Ryan Beardsley, Gianna Gorman and Angelee Gorman

Friends and family may visit on Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Avenue, Dunellen, NJ from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 10:00AM at St. John the Evangelist Church in Dunellen with burial to follow at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in South Plainfield, NJ.
