Madeline L. Dippold, 92, formerly of Sudbury MA, passed away on Monday, July 26 at Life Care Center in Acton, MA. Born in The Bronx, she was the daughter of the late John and Dorothy (Waldinger) Dippold. She graduated from St. Anselm School in The Bronx in 1944 and attended trade school for Merchant Design in Manhattan NY. She continued her pursuit of adult learning by attending adult night school studying business in both Dunellen and Bound Brook, NJ. She grew up in The Bronx, but moved to Dunellen as a teenager. Later she moved to Piscataway NJ and recently moved to Sudbury MA. Madeline worked at Mack Trucks in Plainfield, Bridgewater and Somerset New Jersey for 40 years. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway where she was a long-standing member of the Rosary Altar Society. When she wasn’t working, Madeline was an avid golfer and started playing regularly at the age of 30. She was a member of the Rutgers Women’s Golf Assoc. for over 35 years, playing her final game at the age of 85. Her advice to anyone playing “is to keep your head down and follow through”. Madeline belonged to the Piscataway Garden Club and enjoyed working in her garden as well as taking care of Rocky, The Pug. Besides her parents, Madeline was predeceased by her sisters Mary Collins and Joan Cunningham. She is survived by 5 nephews, 3 nieces and their spouses, respectively Martin and Susan Collins; Richard Collins; Dolores and Ralph Rocco; Robert and Anne Marie Collins; Dorothy Collins; James and Barbara Cunningham, Christopher and Donna Cunningham; and Pamela and John Hyland.
Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, August 3 from 3:00-6:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 4 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway. Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
