Louise M Marshall, 94, died peacefully August 3, 2021 after spending the day with her family by her side. She was born in Middlesex on March 3, 1927, the daughter of Frank and Mary Oliver. She was a lifelong resident of Middlesex living in the home built by her husband Stanley. Louise was a graduate of Bound Brook High School, and worked at a bank in New York City after graduation. She later continued her banking career as a bank teller at the National Bank of NJ in Middlesex. Louise became a local legend in October 1959, when a bank robber held her at gunpoint while robbing the bank.
Louise was the widow of Stanley who died in 1996. She was also predeceased by her sisters Francis Franzoso, Ann Rea and Elizabeth Santicerma, and her two brothers Ben and Frank Oliver. Her family brought the greatest joy to her life. She cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was an avid reader, keeping lists with comments of the books she enjoyed, she enjoyed cooking and baking, took pleasure in knitting and crocheting, and painted in both watercolor and oils. Louise always loved the beach.
Surviving Louise are two sons, Stanley E Marshall and wife Kathryn, and Glenn F Marshall and wife Helen. She was Nanie to her five grandchildren, Leeann Marshall Bartushak, Stanley Marshall III, James W Marshall, Glenn Marshall and Julie Marshall; and to her great grandchildren, Catherine Bartushak, Jacob Bartushak, and Travis Marshall and Summer Marshall. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces she loved dearly.
Family and friends are invited to visitation on Monday, August 9th from 2-4PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church in Middlesex on Tuesday, August 10th at 9:30AM, and Interment at Resurrection Burial Park, Piscataway.
