Lorraine T. (Pietras) Posluszny

Lorraine Pietras Posluszny left the earth on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at the age of 87.  She was born and raised in Trenton, NJ.  After graduating high school, she worked at Lamberton Scammel China.  Lorraine loved adventures and shared many memories of traveling the United States with her uncle in the late 40s and early 50s and flying in his small airplane with her family.

In 1956 she married Michael Posluszny, moved to Dunellen, NJ, and started a family.  She continued to work until retirement.  Lorraine and Michael raised five children to be independent thinkers which at times tested their parenting skills.  She opened her door to many and always had time for visitors.  Her life was filled with escapades that were shared with her friends, family, and especially her grandchildren. 

Lorraine was ready to join Mike, and prepared her own obituary before her last breath.  Here are her written words: “Lorraine Posluszny left this earth on 12/20/2022.  She was 87, predeceased by her husband, Michael, and brother John.  She is survived by her five children, twelve grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, her brother Jerry & his wife Kathy, and many nieces & nephews…That’s all folks…LIGHTS OUT!”

We are certain, Lorraine’s first words to Mike will include reparations for the 17 years she stayed on earth without him and the adventures he missed.

The family plans to celebrate Lorraine’s life sometime in 2021 when gathering restrictions ease up.  A donation of equipment will be made to the Dunellen High School shop classroom in her honor to encourage students to experience the power of doing.
