Laurette F Rasmussen, better known as Susan, was born in Elizabeth to Timothy and Laurette Monahan. She graduated from Scotch Plains- Fanwood High School and attended NYU.
Sue’s career included: Lufthansa stewardess, Bamburger’s store detective, North Plainfield police dispatcher, municipal court clerk for North Plainfield & Springfield, and construction bureau clerk of Springfield prior to her first retirement. She also worked in the construction bureaus of Long Hill and Berkeley Heights.
Sue enjoyed traveling and visiting family in Florida and Washington state. On weekends she could be found at flea markets and craft fairs. Her garden displayed the culmination of her finds and dedication to her passions.
Her greatest love was her family. She was predeceased by her parents and brother, Timothy. Sue was proud of her Irish heritage and the large extended family that included her Minihan cousins, Dan and Michelle Mabardy.
She counted two loving sons and their families among her greatest blessings.

Thomas Rasmussen, his wife Laura, grandchildren Cameron Rasmussen and Wren Rasmussen.
Services will be held at Sheenan’s Funeral Home in Dunellen, NJ, Sunday, September 8, 2024
