With heavy hearts we share the passing of Judith A. Vakerich. She passed peacefully on June 18th following a brave bout with cancer.
Judy was born on October 26, 1950 and was one of two children to bless her family. Growing up in Dunellen, she was introduced to Michael Vakerich through a neighbor. The rest was history. They started their courtship and married on April 3, 1971. Along with Mike, Judy worked hard to provide a good life for their boys. She dedicated decades to Allied Chemical, retiring as forewoman.
Outside of work, she had an insatiable love for reading, always having a book on hand, and found joy in solving crosswords and spending time in her yard.
She also enjoyed all of the NJ activities we are fortunate to have - fishing, crabbing and clamming through the years.
She was a proud daughter of a veteran and honored her father's legacy through her active membership with the American Legion Post 119.
Above all, Judy loved to be with her family. She was a devoted wife, mom and friend to many and will be missed.
She leaves joyful memories to her husband Michael of 53 year, her sons John and Joseph (Wilo), her fur baby Simon and many more family and friends. Her parents Leroy and Mary Steinman, her brother Jack, and her daughter-in-law Lydia passed previously.
Arrangements under the direction of Sheenan Funeral Home. A Memorial is being planned. Please check back for details.
