Joseph R Lehman, 89, formerly of Piscataway, passed away on Thursday, March 12. Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sophie (Labanowski) Lehman.
Mr. Lehman served his country honorably in the United States Army. He worked as a railroad engineer, retiring from Conrail after 42 years. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Joseph was predeceased by his beloved wife Christine who passed in 2014. He is survived by his loving daughter Alice Juechter and her husband Robert of Rahway and by his adored grandson Matthew.
Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, March 18, from 7:00-9:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday, March 19, at 10:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway. Entombment will follow at Woodbridge Memorial Gardens in Woodbridge.
As we all deal with the nationwide spread of the COVID-19 virus, we ask that you honor our new policy to protect the families we are serving, yourself, our staff and our community. When you come to a public visitation and funeral please honor the following:
• Please no hugging, kissing, handshaking or touching of any kind.
• There is a limit to no more than 50 people in our building at one time (this includes our staff.)
• We ask kindly for the safety of all, that you limit your time visiting with the family and paying your respects.
