Joseph F. Donahue passed away peacefully on December 10, 2022. He is survived by his five children, Joseph Donahue & family of DeSoto, Texas, Rosemary Poltorak & family of Dunellen, NJ, Russel Donahue & family of Waco, Texas, Glen Donahue & family of Carteret, NJ and Vincent Donahue of Dunellen, NJ. Joseph is survived by 10 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He is also survived by stepdaughters Joan O’Neill, Dolores Pirnik and Jean Toner.
Joseph joined the U.S. Army in 1952 and served mostly in Europe during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954.
He moved to Carteret in 1960 with his first wife, Mary, and three of his five children. He was an active member of the Carteret Jaycees and later the VFW Star Landing Post #2314.
He was an avid New York Mets fan for many years.
Joseph is predeceased by his second wife, Margaret Donahue, his parents, Joseph and Rose Donahue and his sister, Cecelia Harkins.
