Joseph Balogh

Joseph Balogh, a lifelong resident of Dunellen and a man whose heart was as big as his sense of humor, passed away peacefully on April 20, 2026, at the age of 41.
Born on May 17, 1984, Joe was a fixture in the Dunellen community he loved so dearly. To know Joe was to know a man who truly understood the value of a good laugh. Warm-hearted and quick-witted, he was always ready with a joke to brighten someone’s day. His presence was a source of light for his family and friends, and his great sense of humor will be remembered as his lasting trademark.
Joe found his greatest peace and joy in the outdoors, wanting nothing more than to spend a quiet afternoon casting a fishing line. Whether he was on the water or surrounded by his loved ones sharing stories, Joe lived for the moments that brought people together.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Donna Shaw, and his loving grandparents, Mary and John Ungvarsky.
He is survived by his dear aunt and uncle, Victoria and Eugene Coveleski; his many cousins who were like siblings to him; and a wide circle of friends who became his chosen family over the years. Joe leaves behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and many cherished memories.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you take a friend fishing and think of him. He is simply "gone fishing" for a while.
