Jose G. Padilla Rodriguez

Jose Guadalupe Padilla Rodriguez, who lived a wonderfully rich life, passed away on October 11, 2022 at the age of 91, he was surrounded by the family he loved and who loved him.

Married was to the love of his life, Mercedes Santos. The couple was wed for 48 years. Besides Mercedes, those left to celebrate his life and mourn his passing are his daughter Lupita Padilla, stepdaughters Lorena Santos, and Selena Balecha, her spouse, Jason Balecha, grandchildren Darius Saffold and Elena Balecha and surviving siblings Josefina Davila Rodriguez, Lucio Padilla Rodriguez and Antonio "Pancho" Padilla Rodriguez. The immediate family would also like to recognize Jose's many cousins, nieces and nephews, and granddogs, Daisy, Jeter, Willow, and Euni as those left to mourn.

Jose, who spent the last 33 years as a resident of Piscataway, NJ, was born May 20, 1931, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico to Lucio Padilla Galvan (father) and Maclovia Rodriguez Gomez (mother). Sadly, in addition to his parents, Jose is predeceased by his siblings, Jesus "Chuy" Padilla Rodriguez; Luz Padilla Gavia; Andres Padilla Rodriguez; Francisca "Pachita" Padilla Castro, and Margarita Padilla Rodriguez.

Jose worked for Jara Pools in Warren, NJ as a Mason. Masonry was his passion and he dedicated 60 years of his life to his craft.

A lifelong futbol (soccer) fan, Jose was a major supporter of Club Deportivo Guadalajara, better known as Chivas.

He also loved music, especially mariachi music. His most loved songs were El Rey and Guadalajara

Love is expressed in many different ways. The grand gestures expressed through presents on holidays are momentary. Jose will forever remain in the hearts of his family for moments large and small. Of the moments that loom large in the hearts of his family are the times he spent in the kitchen cooking and passing on family recipes.

Cremation will be private.
