Joni Meeker

On December 11, 2021 Joni Meeker, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 86.

Joni was born on October 25, 1935 to Marge and Carmen Cabell.  She, and her twin sister Jeannie, were the youngest of 6 siblings. She was born in Hazleton, Pennsylvania and lived in Piscataway for most of her adult life.  

Joni was a kind and generous person and she was also a good listener.  She loved to shop and meet up with friends at her favorite haunts (Buzzy's and the Spain Inn).   She loved a good joke, she liked to play cards (liked it better if she won), and in her heyday she enjoyed playing bingo, bowling, softball and she played a mean game of horseshoes.  She enjoyed life to the fullest that's for certain!

Joni is predeceased by her husband Bill Meeker, her mother Margaret Poplar, and siblings, Jean Koch (her twin), Delores Serra, Margie Welsh, Ronnie Cabell and Frank Cabell.

Joni is survived by her two daughters Robin Carmody, her husband Colin and son Cole, and her daughter Darlene Tammara, her husband Tony, her son AJ and daughter Alyssa.  She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and long time family friends.  She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her family and friends.

At the family's request, services are private.  In lieu of flowers, we kindly ask that all expressions of sympathy be made to your favorite charity or to a family in need especially as the holidays near.
