Johnny Tsang Obituary

Johnny Chun Tsang, age 23, of Dunellen, passed away on November 17, 2025 in Cozumel, Mexico while on a family vacation. He was the beloved son of Sonia E. Vargas, and Leung C. Tsang and fiancé of Nhi Vu Mai.

Born on January 12, 2002 in New Brunswick, Johnny was a graduate of Dunellen High School, class of 2020, and in 2023, Johnny completed the Raritan Valley Community College nursing program.

He was a registered nurse with the. Visiting Nurse Association in Somerset county, and a former patient transporter at Robert Wood Johnson University hospital, New Brunswick. Johnny’s comforting, and calm demeanor could diffuse the most difficult of patients and would calm the most scared and fearful patient.

He enjoyed working on his car, building computers, and movies. Every Tuesday night he went to the AMC movie theatre with his mom and siblings. He enjoyed watching old Bruce Lee films with his father. He enjoyed caring for his Uncle Ming, and Aunt M’s house while they traveled. They have an extensive animal care routine that brought him so much peace in the mornings and at night.

Every Sunday, he took his paternal grandmother to dim sum (Chinese brunch) and took her grocery shopping.

Between seeing his family, caring for patients, and coming home to his fiancé, he spent his time with his best friends from childhood. Despite some being hours away, he was always willing to make the drive to see them if they needed him.

He and his fiancé had been to 11 national parks, 20 plus major cities, and 10 states. They also traveled all over Vietnam.

Johnny loved to eat and sample new foods. If he wasn’t travelling to sights, he was travelling for food.

He was so proud of his Hong Kong and Columbian heritage. He was adopted into Vietnamese culture through his fiancé, Nhi.

In addition to his parents, and his fiancé, Johnny is survived by his sister, Jazmin Vargas, and his brother, Jeffrey Vargas. His grandmother; Koon Ying Tsang. Uncles: Mon Tsang, Ming Tsang and his wife Mary Ann, Aunt; Pikkwan Boston and her husband Kirt. Cousins: Liam Boston, Shanon Boston, and Jaden Boston.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Kam Sang Tsang.
