JoHannah “JoMama” Szatkowski, age 77 of Bedminster, NJ, passed away on Monday, March 2nd, 2020 surrounded by loved ones and peacefully listening to Neil Diamond. She was born to the late Mary Elizabeth Keegan and George Keegan on December 19th, 1942 in Brooklyn, NY. As a young teenager she moved to North Plainfield, NJ, where she graduated from high school.
JoMama was an active member of St Luke’s Parish in North Plainfield, NJ and more recently was a member of Saint Elizabeth’s Catholic Church in Bedminster. She served briefly as a Red Cross volunteer and was a member of the Franklin Greens Ski Club in Somerset County where she met and endeared many great friends.
After retiring from Prudential where she worked for over 25 years, she enjoyed spending the cold winter months in The Villages, Florida. JoMama was an active member of the Villages Community and she enjoyed every minute in the Florida sun with her friends.
JoMama was known by all as someone who loved life and was always on the move. She loved to socialize with friends and family. She loved to exercise and stay fit. Most of all she loved to spend time with her grandchildren, children and close friends. She will truly be missed by all.
JoMama is survived by her three children Sean, Kerry and Duane, her two daughter in-laws, Kelly and Luisa, and her three grandchildren, Alexandra Jorie, Jacob Magnum and Hope JoHannah. She is also survived by a large number of other loving relatives and close friends.
Friends and family may visit on Thursday, March 5th, 2020 from 4 to 8 pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave., Dunellen, NJ. A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 6th, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at St Luke’s Church, 300 Clinton Ave, North Plainfield, NJ. All other services are private.
