Jeanne was born at St. Peter’s Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ to Eugene William and Patricia Ann Carney on April 5, 1965. She was born with Down Syndrome and was a wonderful addition to the Carney family.
Jeanne attended Randolphville Elementary School in Piscataway, where she was fortunate to participate in one of the first special education classes of its kind in New Jersey at the time. During her youth Jeanne was very active and was involved in endeavors such as Special Olympics, Girl Scouts, swimming, art classes, church activities and religious education with the Holy Innocents Society at Our Lady of Fatima Church in Piscataway, where she was a parishioner.
As an adult, Jeanne continued to be active, constantly learning and progressing. She began working for the Easter Seals Raritan Valley Workshop in New Brunswick as a packager in 1986, where she created lasting relationships. Jeanne remained at the Workshop until April, 2020. She continued involvement with Special Olympics, was an avid bowler and played with several leagues, enjoyed cooking classes and regularly attended events for the developmentally disabled, such as dinners, dances, picnics and concerts. She loved to swim, dance and sing. But most of all, Jeanne loved spending time with her family; it meant the world to her.
