Jean Marie Varga

Jean Marie Varga, age 53, of Piscataway, passed away on January 9, 2021 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ.

Jeanie was born at Somerset Medical Center in Somerville, NJ to Jozsef and Edith Varga on May 18, 1967.  She went to school in Piscataway, graduating from Piscataway High School in 1986. For years, Jean worked in administrative and customer service capacities for various businesses, but most recently and lovingly, for Platinum Salon in Warren, NJ. Jean’s primary focus for the last 16 years was being a doting mother to her son, Jackson.  To know Jeanie was to know that she loved to cook and could often be found watching cooking shows or whipping something up for others to enjoy.  Jean was known to be a good friend and a frequent visitor to local clubs such as The American Legion, Post 261, where she was a long-time member of the Ladies’ Auxiliary.  

Jeanie is preceded in death by loving family members: mother, Edith Varga (1979); stepmother, Helen Varga (2002); father, Jozsef Varga (2017); uncle, Karl Both (2013); and aunt, Gloria Both (2016).  

Jean is survived by her partner in life and in parenthood, Ron Velicky; her son, Jackson; siblings Elizabeth (Tony) Savage of Middlesex, NJ; Mary (Christopher) Brashier of New Hope, PA; brother, Jozsef Varga, Jr., of Lebanon, NJ; and loving nieces and nephews, Lucas, Julia, Michael, Caleb, Natalie, Aidan, Rachael, Victoria, and William. 

Cremation and services are private. Arrangements were entrusted to Sheenan Funeral Home in Dunellen, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please contact the family to make a donation in trust for Jackson.
