Jean Ann (Wyckoff) Hunt, age 85, of Dunellen, and North Plainfield, passed away on April 11, 2026 in Pittstown. She was the beloved wife of the late Andrew (Andy) F. Hunt, Sr. with whom she shared nearly 52 years of marriage.
Born on July 17, 1940 in Dunellen, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Jean (Applegate) Wyckoff.
She attended St John the Evangelist grammar school and was a proud graduate of Dunellen High School, class of 1957. At Dunellen High, she was captain of the cheerleading squad.
In 1961, she married Andrew Hunt and together they raised their 2 children: Drew and Erin. She had 7 grandchildren.
Jean retired from NJ Bell after 25 years of dedicated service. She started as a cashier in their bill collections department and through the years became Sales Manager. She was a strong role model at NJ Bell and was among very few women managers in the 1970’s.
The Pocono mountains were known as her happy place. She loved vacationing there and looked forward to her annual August vacation with family and friends.
She enjoyed skiing with her husband Andy and many friends and was president of the Dunellen ski club.
Jean was a great friend and a mentor to many. She had a quick wit, and was a great conversationalist who loved to tell a good story.
She was a devout friend of Bill W. for 45 years. She organized and ran a meeting for many years and formed many friendships.
Jean was so proud of her Dunellen heritage and always stayed close to her Dunellen roots.
She is survived by her son; Drew Hunt and his wife Joanna, her daughter; Erin Marucci and her husband Dean. Her grandchildren; Maddy Hunt, Brandon Hunt, Aidan Hunt, Jason Gunn, Violet Marucci, Amy Marucci, and Anthony Marucci. Her brothers; Wayne Wyckoff and his wife Judy, Jim Wyckoff and his wife Terri.
In addition to her parents, and her husband Andrew, she was preceded in death by her brother Ed Wyckoff.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, April 21, 2026 at Sheenan Funeral Home from 4 to 8 PM, and to participate in her funeral mass on Wednesday, April 22nd at St John the Evangelist RC Church at 10:30 AM. Jean will be laid to rest on Thursday, April 23rd at 10:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, South Plainfield.
