Janice Hand
Janice Marie Hand, 83, of Piscataway, passed away on February 2, 2023 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset.
Janice was born in Union to Josephine (Bono) and James Petruzziello on April 28, 1939. After moving to Piscataway, she attended New Market School and graduated from Dunellen High School. She worked as a sales associate at Bambergers in Plainfield and then Macy’s in Menlo Park for more than 30 years.
She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church since it’s inception more than 70 years ago and was a member of the Rosary Society. She was also a proud “band parent” when her children were members of the Piscataway High School Superchiefs in the 1980s and 1990s, and a former member of the women’s auxiliary of the Piscataway BPO Elks Lodge #2414.
Janice was a diehard NY Yankees fan and loved country music and all things Elvis. Her favorite things were gardening, sewing, baking, and spoiling her grandchildren.
Janice is preceded in death by her sister, Margaret Ann Petruzziello and her brother, James Petruzziello.
Janice is survived by her five children Dawn Buttito (Joseph) of Troy, PA, Duane Hand (Rebecca) of Staten Island, NY, Richard Hand (Michele) of Browns Mills, NJ, Kevin Hand (Diane) of Palm Coast, FL, and Doreen Pustizzi (Chris) of Piscataway, NJ. She is also survived by her sister, JoAnne Erickson (Bobby Ray) of Houston, TX, 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be given to Catholic Charities - Diocese of Metuchen to help families in need.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, February 7 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home in Dunellen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 8 at 10:30am at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Piscataway with burial to follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
