Jane A (Scarinza) Hummel

Jane Anne Hummel, 76, of Whitehouse Station, NJ, passed away on December 3, 2022 in Forks Township, PA surrounded by her loving family.

Jane was born in Bound Brook, NJ on January 17, 1946 and raised by her parents, John and Carolyn Scarinza in Middlesex, NJ. She graduated from high school in 1964 and married Jeffrey Paul Hummel on June 26, 1976 in Bound Brook, NJ. For 14 years she was employed as a mortgage loan supervisor for Affinity Federal Credit Union in Basking Ridge, NJ. Previously, she worked for Larson/Cenlar Mortgage Company and Somerset Savings and Loan. Jane thoroughly enjoyed her work and became a mentor to several young colleagues. Her extensive knowledge led to many promotions throughout her career. She was also involved in many charitable efforts during the Christmas season by delivering gifts to disabled children.
Jane’s family considered her the greatest cook on earth, especially on Sundays when she prepared fantastic Italian dinners. Nobody ever left hungry. She also enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, rooting for her Miami Dolphins and time well spent with her husband, Jeff, at their Pocono vacation home. Most of all, Jane cherished time spent with her grandchildren.

Jane is preceded in death by her parents and is survived by her loving husband, Jeffrey, of 46 years; her daughters Kimberly Clemente of East Brunswick, NJ, Ashley Berarov and her husband Michael of Forks Township, PA; her son Jeffrey and his wife Jill of Belvidere, NJ; seven grandsons, Nicholas, Dylan, and Jacob “Kabuck” of East Brunswick, NJ, Tyler, US Army and Justin “Bam Bam” of Belvidere, NJ, Mason and Brantley “Bubba” of Forks Township, PA; three granddaughters, Brittany of East Brunswick, NJ, Lindsey of Seaside Park, NJ and Shelby “Shelbers” of Forks Township, PA; and four great grandchildren, Cassidy, Jayden, Nola and Eliana.

The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the staff of Compassus Hospice Care in Allentown, Pa.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, December 6 from 5:00-8:00pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 7 at 11:00am at the funeral home. All other services will be held privately.
