It is with great sadness that the family of James M. North announces his passing. A devoted husband,
father, grandfather and friend, James passed away surrounded by family on January 27th, 2025 at the
age of 68. Born on January 15th, 1957 at Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield NJ, James lived in Dunellen his
entire life and was very proud of his roots.
He loved life and lived it to the fullest every chance he had. From a young boy James loved sports, he
excelled at everything he attempted. From catching touchdown passes, hitting homeruns, swimming
every chance he had or even singing in the High school play Tootsie. James always being the center of
attention and one of the best storytellers anyone had the pleasure of hearing would agree, too. He had a
great singing voice and he loved sharing it. He loved his vacations to Myrtle Beach and family time. He is
fondly remembered for his love of music: enjoying, listening, singing and attending concerts. James had a
very wide base of knowledge that helped him with his love for crossword puzzles.
He graduated from Dunellen High School, attended Upsula College on a football scholarship and became
employed by the County of Middlesex, Department of Youth Services where he was a Juvenile Detention
Officer then promoted to Chief of Security over the 30 plus years while employed there. James enjoyed
his ability to connect with youth and empower change and success.
James married Jan Zadoorian while vacationing in Barbados. They have shared 20 happy years together,
enjoying cruises, trips to Myrtle Beach, many concerts, eating out and always needing extra cheese.
James was a sports enthusiast that loved watching games as much as playing in them. He loved rooting
for the Mets no matter what.
James was predeceased by his parents and siblings. He will be sadly missed by his wife Jan, daughter
Jamie Rosploch, son Michael North, their spouses and children.
As we say goodbye we are reminded of the profound impact he made on so many lives. James will be
greatly missed and fondly remembered for the compassion and respectful honesty he brought into the
world and for those whose lives he touched. Fly high and enjoy heaven until we meet again.
