Geraldine P. Calabrese, (Leone), 85, of Piscataway, New Jersey, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Friday, April 24, 2026. She was born February 22, 1941 in Astoria, New York to Thomas and Levia Leone. She was raised in the Bronx and graduated from Christopher Columbus High School. She entered the workforce at age 16 and worked in Banking for over 46 years.
On November 28, 1956 she married her soulmate Tito Calabrese. They raised their family in Piscataway, New Jersey where they lived for 60 years. They had 2 children together and were married for 67 years. Geraldine had a fiery spirit in her small frame. She loved fiercely and always had time for family and friends. Everyone who met her was greeted with a big smile and great sense of humor.
She was an amazing artist who loved to entertain family and friends around her dining room table. She loved cooking, baking, traveling, shopping and playing cards.
She was very proud of her Catholic faith and was a dedicated member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She will be missed by so many who knew her. Geraldine loved her family more than anything. Everyday with her husband was a blessing, followed by her children and grandchildren bringing her endless joy.
Geraldine is survived by her husband, Tito Calabrese, son Mark Calabrese and daughter-in-law Christina, daughter Genine Ribaudo, grandchildren Zoe Calabrese, Adriana Ribaudo, Joel Calabrese, Ryan Ribaudo and Angelina Calabrese along with her sister and brother-in-law Audrey and William Heyder, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Levia Leone and son-in-law Joseph J. Ribaudo, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 10: 30 am at Our Lady of Fatima Parish, 501 New Market Road, Piscataway. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Her visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, Dunellen.
