Genevieve J (DiSalvo) O'Brien

Genevieve J. O’Brien, age 94 passed away peacefully on September 10, 2021 in Ormond Beach, FL.  Born April 4, 1927 in Middlesex, NJ.  She was a former lifelong resident of Middlesex before moving to Ormond Beach, FL.  Genevieve was a graduate of Bound Brook High School and worked at Knickerbocker Toy Company and Bridgewater Disposal. 

Genevieve was a long time member of the Alter Rosary Society and Bible group at our Lady of Mt. Virgin Church in Middlesex and enjoyed spending time with her many friends from the group.  Genevieve’s family brought her great joy and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Genevieve is preceded in death by her husband John F. O’Brien, her parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother. 

Genevieve is survived by 4 sons Dennis O’Brien and wife Joyce, Gary O’Brien and wife Christine, Tim O’Brien, John O’Brien, 2 daughters Laurie Hazen and husband Ronald and Maureen Kouril.  She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit the family on Thursday, September 16 from 4:00-7:00pm at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, September 17 at 10:00AM at St. John The Evangelist Catholic Church in Dunellen. Burial will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway.
