Gary Wilkinson Obituary

Gary Neale Wilkinson, age 74, of Piscataway, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home on December 6, 2025. Born on December 8, 1950, in Lynn, Massachusetts, Gary was the beloved son of Marjorie Leavitt and Richard Wilkinson.
He is survived by his siblings Linda Cote and Peter Wilkinson, and was predeceased by his sister Pamela Wilkinson.
Gary was a devoted father and “Pa,” whose greatest joy was his family. He leaves behind his former wife of 36 years, Karen Wilkinson and their children; Kirsten Wendland and her husband Bart, along with their children Nina and Joe of Piscataway; Jennifer Wilkinson and her husband Matthew Creveling of Piscataway; and Chris Wilkinson and his wife Seiler, with their daughter Holliana of Long Valley. He also shared his later years with his loving companion, Dora Dobaldo Cucuzza.
Gary proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan, working as a Sergeant air traffic controller with NORAD for much of his service. Following his military career, he became a successful salesman and executive in the car audio industry, later founding and serving as CEO of Audio Warehouse Express.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gary lived a life rich with hobbies and community involvement. He had his small aircraft pilot’s license and enjoyed flying. He was active in the Boy Scouts with his son, enjoyed playing pool on a league with his daughter Jennifer, and took great pride in gardening and caring for his immaculate lawn. He was a dedicated member of the American Legion, serving as a former commander and was actively involved in Legion business and events. He found joy in going on cruises, dining out, and attending live performances, comedy shows, and musicals.
Gary will be remembered for his wisdom, generosity, and unwavering support. He always had the best advice and was there for his family and friends whenever they needed him. His legacy as a loving son, father, grandfather, brother, partner, and friend will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
