Francis Yambor

Francis ‘Fran” Andrew Yambor, age 96 of Green Brook, passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025 in Green Brook. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth Helen Yambor.

Born on August 14, 1928 in New Brunswick, he was the son of the late Andrew and Barbara (Maszoras) Yambor.

He served in the US Air Force from 1950 to 1953 and was honorably discharged achieving rank of Staff Sergeant.

Fran and Ruth lived in Middlesex, and Dunellen before moving to Green Brook in 1962.

They both started and spent over 20 years running ‘Our Exceptional Children Program.’ This program was held at Green Brook Lanes for Handicapped children. The program also involved the children in softball, gymnastics, and swimming.

Fran was a member of American Legion Post 306 in Middlesex.

Fran is survived by his son; Brett Yambor and his wife Thea of Pittsburg, TX, and his daughter; Jan Yambor and her fiancé William Kuter of Toms River. 

In addition to his wife Ruth, Fran was preceded in death by his sister; Isabelle Sandifer, and his brother; Elmer Yambor.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his viewing on Monday, June 23, 2025 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM at Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Avenue, Dunellen, and to his funeral service on Tuesday, June 24th at 10:00 AM at Sheenan Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Lake Nelson Memorial Park, Piscataway.

In lieu of flowers, a donation in Fran's memory to Saint Jude's Children's research Hospital Research Hospital would be appreciated.
