Ellen is remembered for her kind and selfless character. She was an avid traveler who loved nature. She enjoyed spending her time off backpacking around the world, most notably throughout Europe and the United States. Ellen was also an animal lover, having rescued several dogs who accompanied her on her travels as well.
Predeceased by her parents, Neil and Anna, and her brother, Neil Mackie; Ellen is survived by her sister, Trudie Mackie; nephew Neil Mackie and his wife Michelle and their children, Nikole, Breanne, Neil and Olivia; a niece Jennifer Laguerra and her husband EJ and their children Brent and Bentley; as well as many other extended family and friends.
