Eleanor M. Hatton, 82 a longtime resident of Dunellen, passed away Thursday January 26 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Newark, Eleanor was the daughter of William and Rose Wilsey. She grew up in Newark and was friends with her husband Bill long before they married in 1961. She moved to Dunellen in 1972 where she raised her family. She retired from Hub International Insurance as a Senior Account Manager.
Eleanor loved to travel and spend time with her family. Trips to Maine and Lavallette were some of her favorite spots. She loved to cook, shop and just have fun. She enjoyed her time as a member of the Red Hat Society. She was also member of the Catholic Daughters where she has many dear friends. Eleanor also had a soft spot for pets.
She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, godmother and loving friend to many.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband William Hatton and survived by her daughter Kathleen Shepherd and her three children, Corey, Ryan and Sean, son Bill Hatton and Rocco the granddog.
Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, January 31 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave, Dunellen, NJ. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 1 at 10:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Dunellen followed by burial services at Resurrection Cemetery in Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eleanor’s name to your local animal shelter.
