Dorothy Flocco Obituary

Dorothy Flocco Soluri passed on February 8, 2024.  She was 87.  Dorothy was a cherished Mother, Grammy, Aunt and Friend who epitomized the essence of family.

Visiting hours will be held on Friday, Feb 16th from 10 am – 12 noon at the Sheenan Funeral Home.  A Catholic prayer service will begin at 11:30 am.  Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway.  Although flowers are lovely, if you so wish, donations in her memory may be made to the good work of Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey. Checks can be made payable to RUF-CINJ and mail to the CINJ Development (Philanthropy) Office, P.O. Box 193, New Brunswick, NJ 08901.

Dorothy was born and raised in Brooklyn NY to the late Michael and Vita Angrosino.  After her schooling she married John R. Flocco and they settled in Piscataway in 1966 with their young daughter. Dorothy was smart and balanced work and home life seamlessly.  Her intelligence and dedication shone brightly throughout her illustrious career at Wachovia Bank, later Wells Fargo, where she served as the Vice President of Operations. She was respected among her peers and made lifelong friendships along the way.

Though the loss of John in 2011 left a void; she was blessed with the opportunity to rediscover a past love, Raymond Soluri.  For over ten glorious years, she reveled in the joy of their rekindled connection, creating cherished memories.

Above everything, Dorothy loved being with her family.  Since the day she was named “Grammy” it was clear to all that this was her favorite role in life.  The unconditional love for her grandchildren and adoration of them was like nothing else.

Her legacy of love, resilience, and grace will continue to inspire those who were fortunate to know her. Her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of her adoring family and friends.

Predeceased by her husband Ray; and her bright light - her grandson Steven M. Viel; she leaves her devoted daughter and son in law Ellen Flocco and Robert J. Kearstan Jr; her adored grandchildren Ronald J. Viel, Tiffany L. Viel and Robert J. Keartsan III; her dear niece, Kaitlyn Viel; her brother Michael V. Angrosino Jr.; the Soluri Family and many more dear family and friends.
