Donald Joseph McCarron, 96, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 27 at the Menlo Park Veterans Home in Edison. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Daniel and Mary McCarron.
Donald served his country honorably in the United States Navy during World War II, stationed in the Pacific. He was an avid bowler and sports fan, especially the Yankees and the Giants. He also enjoyed his flower garden. Donald enjoyed reading and learning about different things for himself, as well as watching Jeopardy on a nightly basis.
Besides his parents, Donald was predeceased by his loving wife Grace in 2014 as well as by his son Robert. He is survived by his daughters; Bernadette Orazi and her husband Paul, and Donna Marie McCarron. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren, Eric and Nicole Orazi as well as by many nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit the family on Thursday, March 4th from 9:00-10:30 AM at the Sheenan Funeral Home, 233 Dunellen Ave in Dunellen with a funeral service to be held at 10:30. Entombment and Military Honors will follow at Resurrection Burial Park in Piscataway. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donald’s name to the charity of your choice. The family understands that all may not be able to attend due to Covid, but asks that you keep Donald in your thoughts and prayers.
