Diana V. Apgar Hood, 88, formerly of Middlesex, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2021 at Bridgeway Care Center in Bridgewater after a long illness.
She was born on July 8, 1932 in Chatham, NJ to Ruth (Stone) Kent and Russell Kent. Diana was known as Ginny or Aunt Ginny to most. She was a longtime resident of Middlesex Boro. She worked as a Crossing Guard for the Middlesex Police Department, retiring in 2012. Diana was an Auxiliary member and past President of the John W. Lupo American Legion Post 306 in Middlesex.
Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband Jesse E Apgar in 1983, and by her second husband Clyde G Hood in 2009 as well as by her son in law Harry J Hermance, Jr in 2007. Also predeceasing her is her brother Russell Kent, and her sisters, Emily Imbimbo, Ruth Lane and Jean Harvis. Surviving are her daughters Linda J Hermance and Susan M Franko and her husband Donald; her granddaughter Jessica M Black and husband Dylan, and her grandson Andrew J Franko. Also surviving is her sister Nancy Darois and her brothers James Kent, Donald Kent, William Kent as well as by many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the entire staff of Bridgeway Care Center, especially the nurses of the East Wing for their outstanding care, especially in her final days.
