Charles P. Reilly, 95, of Middlesex, passed away on October 4, 2022, in Menlo Park.
Charles was born in Brooklyn, NY, to Philip and Elsie Reilly on October 31, 1926. He attended Middlesex/Bound Brook schools until he enlisted in the Navy in 1943, serving in World War II. He married Dorothy Daniels on February 13, 1971, in Dunellen. Charlie worked as a printer and retired from IEEE in 1991. He was involved in the Dunellen VFW and was an avid golfer and league bowler.
Charlie was a beloved son, husband, brother, uncle, cousin, father, grandfather, and friend. Charlie lived most of his life in Middlesex, NJ, and you can find his smiling face sprinkled throughout the Middlesex Boro books. Charlie loved all forms of auto racing, the Mets and the Jets.
Charlie was always smiling, proud to be a veteran, and wore his WWII Veterans hat proudly. He loved when people would stop and ask him questions about his service and when they shared stories with him of their service or their family's service.
Charlie is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, and his son-in-law Norman Gray.
Charlie is survived by his son John & his wife Patricia, stepdaughter Denise Gray, and grandchildren Justin Gray & his wife Alicia, Caitlin Reilly, and Conor Reilly.
