Charles "Gus" MacNeil
Obituary
On March 27, 2023 Charles 'Gus" MacNeil beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away at the age of 90.
Gus was born in Newark N.J. on January 2, 1933. He attended Dunellen High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a professional firefighter in North Plainfield and as a printer at Art Color. He worked for 30 years as a union carpenter out of the Somerville local retiring in 1995.
Gus was an avid golfer. He was a volunteer golf instructor at Raritan Valley College. He was most proud of the hole in one that he achieved at Rutgers 5 years ago. He also enjoyed watching NFL football.
He is predeceased by his mother Gertrude. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Virginia, his step-children Patricia Cronin (Kevin) and Gary Stebor (Louanne), his grand children Andrew, Brendan, Keith and Lauren and his great grand children Dax and Rocco. Gus will be dearly missed by his entire family.
