Carmela Buccino Obituary

Carmela Rita Buccino (Feola), age 94, passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2026. Born in Plainfield, NJ, she was a lifelong resident of central New Jersey and was raised in a close-knit family. She attended St. John’s catholic grammar school in Dunellen, later graduating from Holy Trinity High School in Westfield. During her high school years, she met the love of her life, Daniel Buccino, and together they built a life grounded in devotion, commitment, and family. They shared nearly 69 years of marriage, creating a lasting legacy of love and strength. Carmela was a long-time resident of Dunellen, after previously living in Plainfield and Westfield, NJ.
Carmela began her career as a secretary at Maxson Middle School in Plainfield, NJ and was the bookkeeper for her husband’s business, the Elm Barber Shop in Westfield. She devoted many years to raising her children, carefully balancing part-time work that allowed her to be present for them after school and throughout the summers. She eventually returned to full- time employment as a business manager for Tri-Graphic Label Company in South Plainfield, where she worked until her retirement in 2000.
Carmela had a deep love for cooking, sewing, and bookkeeping. She was also an avid reader who enjoyed both historically based non-fiction and romance novels. She took pleasure in completing daily crossword puzzles, loved taking and scrapbooking family photos, and, in her later years, watching game shows. One of her greatest joys was supporting her family, especially by attending her husband’s, children’s, and grandchildren’s sporting events, most notably road races and cross-country/track meets, where she was a constant and dedicated presence.
She was known for her strong will and unwavering standards, maintaining a structured and disciplined home while remaining deeply devoted to her faith in God and her family. Her strength and determination were evident in all aspects of her life and left a lasting impression on those who knew her.
She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Daniel; her parents John and Mary Feola, brother Vincent Feola, and sisters MaryGrace Di Cairano and Dorothy Feola.
Carmela is survived by her children, Marianne (Charles Walter), Peter (Elena), Paul (Jennifer) and Bettyanne (Darrin); and her cherishedgrandchildren, Mark, Matthew (Deirdre), Timothy (Jaime), Daniel (Karly) , Alyssa, Anthony, Holly, Gabby and Kyle. She also leaves behind her great- grandchildren, Isaac, Gwendolyn, and Reid, her sister Joanna Kelly, and her sister-in-law, Ginger Feola. Additionally, she will be missed by her devoted and loving caretaker, JuJuna Pilieva.
Carmela will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was defined by her commitment to her family.
Though she may no longer be physically present, her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
