Devoted husband, father, and Nonno, Carlos Alfonso Alonso, 79, passed away in his home surrounded by the love of his family. Born in Argentina, he and his beloved wife immigrated to the United States in 1970. Together they began a new chapter marked by courage, sacrifice, and determination.
Carlos worked tirelessly as a mason and built his own business, providing for his family while demonstrating the values of hard work, perseverance, and integrity. Everything he did was guided by his devotion to his family and his desire to create opportunities for those he loved.
In life, he was able to enjoy the fruits of his labor through doing things that he loved: participating in his children’s and grandchildren’s accomplishments, traveling around the world with his family, fishing the coasts of Mar del Plata and the Jersey Shore, eating his favorite sweets, making the best asado, and appreciating a delicious Malbec.
Above all, he was a loving husband, a devoted father, and a proud grandfather to his three grandchildren, who gave him immense joy and whom he adored deeply. Carlos is survived by his wife, Teresa; brothers, Alejandro and Ricardo; daughter, Karina; son, Carlos (Jillian); and grandchildren Alexander, Caroline, and Lucas; beloved nephews and nieces, and adored grand nephews and nieces. His legacy lives on through them and through the countless lives he touched with his generosity, wisdom, and quiet strength.
Carlos will be remembered for his hard work, quick wit, joyful dance moves, and uncanny ability to build and fix almost anything. Though he will be deeply missed, his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend his viewing on Thursday, February 12th from 4 - 7 PM and to his funeral service on Friday, February 13th at 11 AM at Sheenan Funeral Home. Entombment will follow at Resurrection Burial Park.
